Planning permission, listed building permission and building regulations for barn conversion 

Client Brief: to convert a dilapidated barn on the end of a period farmhouse with cobb walls into a downstairs games room and upstairs en-suite bathroom. The conversion had to retain the original detail and wooden structure of the barn, whilst creating an area for snooker table, gaming consoles and seating area for card playing and Master bedroom en-suite bathroom above.

Design Solution: we designed a self-supporting structure to fit within the existing walls using oak timber frames, allowing the period features to be retained and the upstairs en-suite to be supported.
